Seniors Discover All the Ways You Can Learn, Travel and Have Fun With Your Friends and Neighbors – Right Here in Reston!

This is what you have been waiting for. Sometimes grown-ups really do have more fun than kids. There’s so much to do, so many opportunities for adventure, learning and being part of the thriving Senior Adult community in Reston. Plus, Seniors receive special, discounted rates on programs designed especially for them.

You can participate in a year-round series of workshops, special-interest programs, excursions and wellness activities. Programs include Arts and Crafts, Computers, Music, Discussion Groups, Trips and Tours, Fitness and Exercise, Social Programs, and so much more.

Classes vary from season to season, and have included:

Getting the Most Out of the Internet
Digital Photography and Editing
Woodworking—making toys for donation to non-profit organizations in the Reston area
How to Write Your Own Life Story
Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program
Watercolor Painting, Ceramics and other art and craft classes
Outdoor Wellness such as hiking and biking excursions
English as a Second Language
AARP Driver Safety and TaxAid programs
Bridge, Mah Jongg and Pinochle
Genealogy

You can also participate in dances and dance lessons, card games and lessons, discussion groups and special lectures, along with travel adventures. Trips have taken groups of Senior Adults to Ford’s Theater and other performance venues, galleries, gardens and more. Overseas excursions are also offered.

Senior Adult Programs are targeted to persons age 55 or older, although adults under 55 may register for Senior programs if space is available after priority registration. Program fees will be doubled.

Be sure to look at the current listings for Senior activities in RCC WebTrac. Activities sell out quickly, so be sure to register right away, using the registration form, for anything that interests you. In addition, be sure to check out the Senior Adult section throughout our Program Guide for other programs of interest. Remember, seniors (age 55 and older) receive a 20% discount on Adult Program class fees (except in cases where a fee is payable to someone other than RCC). This additional discount does not apply to Adult and Family trips, drop-in programs, All Ages, or Senior Department programs.
