One of the most respected artists in the new school of bluegrass, Sierra Hull has received 5 IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) nominations in the past 3 years and is the first bluegrass musician to receive Berklee School of Music’s prestigious Presidential Scholarship. Secrets, the debut album she recorded at age 15, and released at age 16, struck listeners with sensibilities that seemed both seasoned and fresh. Daybreak, her follow-up album, was described by The Associated Press: “Combine the angelic voice of Alison Krauss with the fiery mandolin picking of Rhonda Vincent and you have the sound of Sierra Hull.”
Damian’s note: Sierra Hull & Highway 111 joined us for 2010’s Reston Festival and wowed the crowds with their talent. I am thrilled to bring them indoors for what will be an amazing concert by one of Bluegrass music’s young talents.
