How to Register For Aquatics Programs

1. Look at the RCC Program Guide for the current season

Programs for upcoming seasons are added three times a year -in July for the Fall Season, November for the Winter/Spring Season, and April for the Summer Season. To review Aquatics activities for the current season, you can:

  • Use the Online Program Guide: log on as "Guest" to display a searchable list of RCC 's classes and activities. You don’t need a user id and password to browse the activity catalogue. (Online registration is coming soon.)
  • Look at the Aquatics section of the Program Guide in Acrobat PDF format. This looks like an on-screen version of the printed Program Guide. To give you faster access, each section of the Program Guide is available separately. You must have Adobe Reader to open the documents.

2. Fill out a registration form

  • To register for Aquatics, use the Aquatics Registration Form (PDF) to print a registration form for RCC's aquatics classes.
  • Carefully review the Center's registration policies.

3. Fax or mail your registration to RCC

Fax your registration to RCC:

Please include your credit card information on the form. Once your registration has been processed, you will receive a confirmation letter in the mail.

For Aquatics programs, fax the completed Aquatics Registration Form to (703) 476-0563.

Pool Rules And Regulations

Open Swimming

  • Please note that lessons will receive priority for pool space.
  • During open swim hours, there will be one to three lap lanes in place and the rest of the pool will be set aside for open swim activities.

Lap Swimming

  • Please note that lessons will receive priority for pool space.
  • Lap lanes are for swimming only. No water walking or other uses are allowed.
  • Faster swimmers (45 second 50's or better) should swim in the center lanes. The outside lanes are for slower swimmers.
  • Swim in a counter-clockwise direction, keeping to the right of the lane. Circular swimming permits more than two in a lane. Splitting lanes is discouraged, and may not be permitted.
  • The signal to switch to a counter clockwise circular pattern will be a kickboard placed vertically in the water at the end of the lane as the swimmer approaches.
  • Swim continuously, stopping at the ends of the pool only.
  • Yield right-of-way to faster swimmers. Don't stop mid-lane. When you reach the wall, pause at the right side of the lane to allow the faster swimmer(s) to pass. If you wish to pass someone, gently tap the slower person's foot.
  • When finished, please move to another area of the pool so that other swimmers may swim.
  • Use extra care when using fins, kickboards, and hand paddles. (The use of fins, snorkels, and masks may be restricted.)
